July COVID-19 Update

Given the current COVID-19 virus caseload in Hamilton County, it is safest for you to meet through video or phone for your scheduled appointment. However, decisions will be made on a case by case basis whether this is the best choice for your care. Please plan to connect with Dr. Beasley via text within 24 hours of your appointment to verify whether your appointment will be in person or remote.

Regulations as of 7/10/20 for in-person appointments are that patients are fever-free and have no known COVID-19 contacts within the past two weeks. Additionally, all persons at the clinic will be required to wear masks for the duration of the Hamilton County mandate.

COVID-19 update

Due to the current CDC recommendations, I am only holding appointments by phone or via video through doxy.me. It is vital that we all do our part to reduce the burden on our healthcare system as this virus spreads through our community. Please confirm with me prior to your appointment time how you would like to communicate. Doxy.me is a video service that is easy to access through most web browsers on a laptop or mobile device. You can reach me through the following link at your appointment time:

Seasonal Affective Disorder

Feeling more down, sad, “blah” during the colder months is an issue that many people face. Usually it’s because of the fewer hours of daylight. For many people, using a light box can be helpful. Light boxes should be 10,000 Lux, which refers to the quality of the light given off by the device. Amazon has these for safe for $100 or less. Here is a link to a quality box on Amazon.com if you are interested in trying one. To use it, place it on a table about 2 feet away from your eyes. You do not have to stare directly at it, so it can be used while reading the paper or doing homework, for example. Use it for about 30 minutes a day for good effect. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions about it.
